Google DV360 Set-up Guide

In this guide you’ll learn how to set up the Buddy Deal ID and creative tag in Google DV360.

1. Adding the deal token to DV360

The Deal token supplied by BigAds will be pushed directly from Buddy to your DV360 instance. Please follow the steps below to accept and use the token for your campaign:

Step 1: Select Negotiations on DV360 menu 

Step 2: The new deal token will appear at the top with the status appearing as “Action required”. Please click on the deal token name. 

Step 3: Click “Accept” to allow the deal token to be pushed to your inventory:

Step 4: Click on “Agree” to allow the deal to be pushed to your inventory. 

 

The deal will now appear under “My Inventory” in the DV360 menu, ready to be used.

Note: The CPM price under Negotiations will be in USD but will be converted to AUD in My Inventory. Due to conversion rates, the price that appears on DV360 may not be accurate. It is important to understand that the deal has been set up at the agreed CPM on the SSP end and will run at that price.

2. Setting up your insertion order

Step 1: Create new Insertion Order >> Input Campaign Name

Step 2: Select your Budget, Dates & Pacing Continued on Next Slide

Step 3: Edit Public Inventories

Step 4: Click to edit the Public Inventories option

Step 5: Uncheck Target new exchanges

Step 6: Select None and check all public inventory and then uncheck again (to ensure nothing is selected) 

Step 7: Click Apply

Step 8: Click to edit the Private Deals option

Step 9: Select the deal set up earlier (matching the deal token provided by Buddy)

Step 10: Click Create

Step 11: Create a New Insertion Order

Step 12: Choose Real time bidding (see point 2 insert)

Step 13: Create Line Item 

Step 14: Choose Display (see point 2 insert)

Step 15: Ensure you have selected the correct deal 

Step 16: Input your Budget goal for this Line Item

Step 17: Input your Fixed Bid from Buddy

Step 18: Assign your creatives

3. Auditing your creatives

Step 1: Name your Creative

Step 2: Select the appropriate ad-size using the “creative audit guide” by Big, from the Ad Format drop down. You will select this for any and all ad formats.

Creative tags for “Desktop Pro-skin” will need to be duplicated and added in 3 times ( 970×250, 728×90, 970×250)

Step 3: Add URL. Make sure to uncheck MRAID and HTML5

Step 4: Click Test Tag to make sure the creative tag is rendering correctly and going to the correct landing page. 

Step 5: Click Save

Troubleshooter

Step 1: Within your Campaign >Select Line item > Troubleshooter

Step 2: Select your Deal from the Inventory drop down

Step 3: Choose the reporting period

Step 4: Download the Troubleshooter report & send to adops@bigads.co

Further recommendations

  • Set-up Configuration – When setting up a campaign on DV360, ensure it follows the below configuration
  • Inventory – Ensure to only run on the deal token supplied by Big Ads and exclude “ Public Inventory on IO, Campaign and Line item levels. Select “ Authorised Direct Sellers and Resellers” under “ Quality”.
  • Environment – Select Only “ Web” and exclude “ APP” within all levels including Campaign, Insertion Order, and Line Item levels for all creative/line items. 
  • Device Targeting – Ensure the correct device type is selected. For desktop pro-skins, choose “Computer” only. For mobile pro-skins, select “Smartphone” only. Pro-scroll creatives run exclusively on “Mobile”. Do not and “ Table and other devices.
